Bisle Forest Trek
About
the Place:
Bisle
forest, in the heart of south-western India's Western Ghats, is home of India's (and indeed earth's) most spectacular rainforests. It is located in Hassan District's Sakleshpur (Sakaleshpura) Taluk. Bisle village adjoins this forest to the
east. To the north it is contiguous with Kempuhole Reserve forest. To the south
it merges with Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary of Kodagu (Coorg) district. To the
west it has the Kukke Subramanya forest range. The dense rainforests, the hilly
terrain, rich flora and fauna and innumerable water courses make it a nature
lovers and a trekker's heaven.
Difficulty level: between moderate to difficult
Plan:
To
trek and camp in Karnataka’s most infamous jungle and visit close by sea beach.
Schedule:
Firday
22 Dec 06:
11:30PM
– Report at “Symphony Theater – MG Road, Bangalore”
11:45PM – Depart from Bangalore.
Saturday 23 Dec 06:
7:00
AM – Reach Kodu raste (1 hr from Sakleshpur), Freshen np, Break fast.
9:00
AM – Reach Hoddaluguddu and start Trekkeing.
Evening
- Reach Hongadahalla, Camp for the night
Sunday 24 Dec 06:
7:00
AM – Drive down to Kodu raste and Trek another route.
(Another
route will be decided after reaching the destination, most probably it will be
Kumardhara waterfall near Kumarparvatha)
Evening
– Camp for the night or head on to Mangalore and camp on Baindur or Malpe
beach.
Monday
25 Dec 06:
Early
Morning – Head to Mangalore - Bath in Malpe Beach, Food ball/Volley ball and
other beach sports.
Evening
– Depart to Bangalore.
Mid
night – Reach Bangalore

IMP: Carry your own Sleeping bags, Sleeping mats, energy food/drink, warm
cloths, torch light etc.
Expenditure:
Total
expenditure/Person: Rs. 1700.00
Which includes:
Transport, Food (3- bfast, 3-lunch, 2 evening snacks, 2- dinner), first aid
kit, Tents, safety gears, Guide charges, Door drop at home in case we return
late night and miscellaneous.
This amount does not include:
Lunch/Dinner/breakfast @ hotel, Accommodation in Hotel, Sleeping bags, Hire
charges of hotel room for freshen up.
Sleeping bags & back pack arrangment:
We can arrange Sleeping bag and backpack on rent. Whoever want to avail Sleeping
bags or backpack on rent can transfer rent Rs. 120.00 each (for 3 days) along
with the Trek contribution.

IMP Points:
- Participation is on First-Come-First-Serve basis, Participation will be confirmed
only on receipt of payment. As of now max count is 1 Tempo load ie 12 seats, we
are in process of getting permission from respective Forest dept. Head count
may vary (upper or lower) depending on permissions.

Cancellation
will not be considered unless there is anyone replacing that seat.

Participant’s
suggestions will be considered, but final decision on trekking route, other
places to visit will be taken by Team BMC.
