Kodachadri Trek [25th - 26th Feb 2012]

About the place:
Kodachadri is in Shivamogga (Shimoga) district, 1343 meters above sea level. A beatific hill abode that overlooks the panoramic Western Ghats. It is clothed with splendid evergreen forests. This place is is around 380 KMs from Bangalore and 20KM from Kollur.The peak of the hill is around 8-10 KM from the base and on an average takes 4-5 hrs to climb.

Kodachadri is famed for its glorious sunrises and sunsets. The famous temple town of Kollur is 12km away. These hills (4411ft.) constitute one of the largest forest areas in Karnataka, and part of this region forms the Mookambika Nature Reserve. Kollur is an ideal base to explore the hills. The Mookambika Nature Camp is 4km south of Kollur.

In this trek, the ascent from Marakuttaka via Idlumane falls and descent will be from Karraghatta via Arishinagundi falls.

Friday:     24th Feb 2012
09:30PM   Pick-up at Pizza Hut
09:45PM   Pick-up at Domlur - Shanthi Sagar
10:00PM   Pick up from Lifestyle - Margrath Road.
10:15PM   Start from Bangalore
Saturday: 25th Feb 2012
08:00AM   Reach Nittur (Kodachadri) and Freshen-up and Have breakfast
Reach Kumble Village and commence trek to Idlumane Waterfalls
Reach waterfalls and relax
Trek to peak. Have packed Lunch on the way up.
Reach Peak and enjoy.
Trek down to Base camp after sunset.
Sunday:   26th Feb 2012
05:30AM   Freshen-up and trek to Sunrise point
Start climbing down.
Reach Base Camp, Freshen Up and have breakfast.
Visit Shivappanaika's Fort at Nagara.
12:30PM   Start back to Bangalore. have lunch at Shimoga

Charges: Rs. 2500 per participant
Above Charges includes: Non-A/C transport, Sleeping bags, Food, Instructor & Miscellaneous Charges.
Above Charges does not includes: Lunch on Sunday and food on the way back to Bangalore.

Note: Drop points will be the same as pick-up points.

Things to carry:
- Personal medication (if any)
- Strong backpack.
- Change of clothes for two days.
- Toiletries
- Water bottles (at least 2 liters of water)
- A torch with new batteries. (must in case of emergency)

- Energy Food (Chocolate bars, flavored milk, Electrolyte drinks - Glucon-D, etc).

- Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Rain gear.
- Camera.
